*Ten year old CD-AM/FM-Boombox Into Stereo 1/4" Ins on Mixer*

One of those ubiquitous pill-shaped portables
you can still buy in Target or Walgreens, needed
to play specifically requested tracks from a
client-provided CD during a reunion. I'm coming
out of the unit's headphone > mini-to-RCA-stereo
adapted to 1/4" males into input # "7/8" on a tiny
4 XLR plus two stereo channel mixer.

My question concerns where to set the volume
coming out of the boombox before setting input
gain on the board. Quarter-way? Half- way up?

I know it's not the ideal setup, but it's a last minute
request and the boombox plus my adaptors are all
I have handy.

Adjust it so it sounds best, you retarded dumb fuck. In other forums, you've
been hand-fed all kinds of practical advice about optimal gain-staging, and
all you've done is to whine at people who understand this stuff, with your
gibbering and drooling about how you know so much better. Maybe you should
have been paying attention, rather than making such a big stink about what a
fucking moron you are. Maybe you should let one of the grownups handle the
playback chores, li'l buddy.

I'd go 3/4, unless that caused overload of the input.

Alternatively simply use a regular CD player which you know is going to
o/p -10dBv ?

The question is: Is the output from a traditional
headphone jack(on a boombox, stereo receiver)
considered 'speaker level', as opposed to what
comes out of a smart phone or mp3 player?

By the way, I went with half-way up on the
boombox volume/headphone out and was still
able to turn the mixer input trim up a little from
its minimum setting.

I tend to keep output from a source going into a
board low, and bring it up with the board's
input gain. Keeps things clean and unclipped.

Google 'gain staging'. If the way you are doing it background noise
level is not a problem, and clipping is not a problem, then stick with it.

Google 'gain staging'.
Hehe. As we know from his years of posts, theckmah the retarded dumb-fuck is
not capable of understanding anything about gain staging. Plainly stated,
he's just too stupid.

It went well. No need to worry about background
noise in a room filled with over 100 people, some
eating, others chatting, children running around.

Yes, I knowmwhat gain staging is, especially in a
chain with more than two pieces. Don't want to
overload the next piece up in the chain.

I'm used to it. Especially a machine that keeps
claiming it "knows me", but from God knows where.

Hi, li'l buddy. Since you're posting about me on a world-wide internet
forum, I'm responding. I know you like to call my responses "stalking," but
that's retarded, obviously. As for what I "keep claiming," I hadn’t even
mentioned it for years. But don’t let that stop you from babbling about your
delusions! But now that you mention it ...

This thing just keeps crapping on and crashing

You whined about me in a post on Usenet, so I responded. If you didn’t want
me to respond, why did you post about me? You seem to be a retarded
dumb-fuck; and you seem to be obsessed with me, and your hobby of whining
about me online. Maybe you should get some friends in real-life, li'l buddy.
