Concerts have been increasingly suffering from effects of the loudness war already afflicting recorded music on CD or download. I noticed it even 5-10 years ago at a local alive @ five series.

Promoters & the acts themselves have been demanding "turn it up" and "louder", and compressor settings have been eaking upwards ever since.


I can no longer sit/stand in my location(even a nose bleed section!) without having to take a listening break every 15-20 min.

As I've mentioned before, a recnt Neil Young concert was too loud for my
comfort even with my 15dB ear-plugs in. Pogo that !
