Post by RupertPost by FlintHas anyone here heard/worked on an MLA array? Any thoughts/opinions of
it compared to Adamson, Clair, or L'Acoustic large format arrays?

I've mixed on MLA twice now, K1 a bunch, Clair i5 and i3 too. Adamson not yet. MLA does seem have to have the best SPL consistency from front to rear of a given venue. Makes sense with the insane amount of per driver/cell processing. But I think the L'Acoustics K1 sounds the best of all the rigs I've ever used. And the off axis coverage is noticeably better than the V-DOSC. The Clair rigs sound pretty sweet too, but not as good as K1. Plenty of horsepower though. Though I haven't mixed on an Adamson rig, I've heard several handfuls of shows through them and haven't been really impressed by the sound or the off axis coverage.
Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured MLA's 'cellemental'
processing offered some performance enhancement, but I'm rather
interested in Martin's off-axis coverage claims with physically
separated mids and highs and FIR filtering.
I tend to consider some line array claims somewhat dubious at times
until I actually hear a particular rig myself. But then I was
somewhat the same way when Martin introduced their longbow array years
ago, and was pleasantly surprised when I finally got a chance to mix
on one.
