I am trying to find out about the Ross Mega amp 800. I have the amp but do
not have the owners manual. I want to use it in bridge mode powering two 8
ohm speakers. that makes a resistance of 4 ohms. but the back panel of the
amp says a minimum of 8 ohms in bridge.

My question is, Will I damage the speakers if I bridge them to 8 ohms?

Are you implying the Ross amp would make a good anchor, my Lord?

Not as good as a real anchor, no...but at least it would
be good for *something.* :-)

I used to own one. IIRC, that's an AB Systems design. It's not very
beefy in the output section, so don't do anything to run it too hot.
Forced cooling and a space above and below in your rack would be a good
idea.

Why not just parallel the channel inputs, and drive one speaker with
each channel? That'll likely sound better anyway.

You can't really do that (bridge to 8), but I'm wondering if there's a
language issue here, since you're posting from Macau. The guy who owned
my amp did run it in mono into 4 ohms sometimes, and I only had to
replace the output transistors once in several years. I wouldn't do it,
personally.
