Finally... I've been wondering when we'd see this for some time.

The size reduction is nice, as is the FIR filter addition. Now if
they can just bring out a 4 channel version like Powersoft, you'd see
even more of these in biamped monitor wedge amp racks and/or FOH amp
racks used for additional line array element shading applications.

** There is barely any similarity between Lab Gruppen and Powersoft.

The reason Powersoft could squeeze a 4ch x 800 watt amplifier into a 1RU box
was that it used Class D for each output stage and a fully power factor
corrected ( hence regulated) SMPS for DC supply.

The combination has VERY high efficiency all power levels and operates on
any AC supply voltage with no change in performance.

Lab Gruppen amps use neither technology, despite the 10 years that has
passed since Powersoft hit the scene and showed how to do it.

BTW:

There are Chinese clones of some Lab Gruppen amps (2RU models, 2 and 4 ch)
that are on offer for silly prices.

Yeah, I've seen one of them. "LA8 Green"
