The club that I've been working at has Open Mic every Monday. Tonight a
young lady got onstage to play her two allotted songs (left handed). I
noticed that on the first song she was strumming up on the downbeat. On
her second song, she invited a soprano sax onstage to join her.

He made a comment about her playing a right handed guitar strung right
handed. Then she played some nice finger-picking. After the night was
over, I asked her how she finger-picked upside-down. She replied; "I
don't know."

I asked if she was playing bass notes with her thumb - she used her
index finger. This is an excellent example of someone teaching their
self to play with sheer desire & tools available. Impressive!

My Air Force roomate, Les Jackson, played the same way. He said that
it was always amusing to watch another player, playing right-handed,
try to follow his chords by following the fingering.
