I was just given 2 Sony ECM 33P condensor mics, and I can't find any real
information on them on Google.

Has anyone used these before and would they be good for S.R....maybe drum
O.H.'s?

** Are these Sony "back electret" mics with provision for a 4.5 volt
battery inside ?

May be phantom powered too - IIRC.

They date from the late 1970s and are very nice general purpose
ics - if still working OK.

Phil, they have an odd round 9volt battery that's a little bit bigger than a
AA, and yes, they can also run off phantom power.

They both seem to work fine.

They are fine for acoustic guitar, drum overheads and general recording.

A little noisy by today's standards, but were pretty good 20 years ago.

Worth about $75 each.
