Bent Rack Ears

Anyone have any tips or tricks for straightening a bent rack ear? I scored
an SPX 900 on ebay and it arrived with one ear bent back.
The seller claims it wasn't bent while in his possession, but the box wasn't
damaged so I doubt it was caused by the shipper (UPS).

Guess so...

I knew, when I posted the question, that at least one asshole would have an
ignorant reply. I didn't expect two.
In any case, I fixed the issue using a method that seemed the most
appropriate and safe.
I was just curious if anyone out there used a method I hadn't considered.
Given that the front panel of the SPX
is integral to the rack ears, I was concerned about tweaking any internal
bits when I applied force to the ear.

Anyway, I'd like to thank the two assholes (Allison and PeterD) for their
immature and ignorant replies.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

A big set of vice grips or channel locks with covering to prevent
galling of the face would have been my first choice.

The only way to get it truly flat if its really torqued, is to remove it
completely, and wedge it between two flat metal parts and beat on it or
squeeze it in a vice.

I think LV gave STeve the best answer. sounds like that's
the tool for the job, if it can be done at all.

Clamp the ears with vice-grips to bend them back in place. This has
worked for me. But you might risk breaking them off if they are bent
severely.

Applies force over a wide area, has no teeth and is
easy to pad with a towel (or whatever) to avoid marring
the panel. I use a pair of these (I've had 'em for 25+
years) to straighten out dinged vintage Fender front
escutcheons. They work fine on rack ears, too
